Join us at the Cedar Rapids Kernels Game on May 31st for Clubfoot Awareness Night!

Jim MecirPlease join us for Clubfoot Awareness night at the Cedar Rapids Kernels! This fun and exciting event will take place on Thursday, May 31st at 6:35 PM. Gates open at 5:30 PM, and the Kernels will take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Soda and water are $2.00 all night, and there will be a fantastic fireworks show following the game! Tickets are $11.00, and $3.00 of each ticket sold goes back to support Clubfoot Awareness.

We are thrilled to announce that former MLB pitcher and Clubfoot Child, Jim Mecir, will be our honorary guest at the game. Jim was born with clubfoot yet he went on to become a Major League pitcher for 10 years. During his career in the major leagues he was part of the 1996 New York Yankee team that won the World Series. He also spent 4½ years as a member of the Oakland Athletics, and is portrayed in the book and movie about that team, Moneyball. In 2003, Jim received the Tony Conigliaro Award, given annually to the player who most effectively overcomes adversity to succeed in baseball. He will throw out the first pitch and sign autographs during the first two innings.

Perfect GameAlso a big shout-out to our game sponsor, Perfect Game. We greatly appreciate all of your support!
